I'm looking for some help with my 2006 ford focus 1.8 diesel. The car will not start without using easy-start, it tries to start (turning over) but nothing. We have replaced both cam and crank sensors, a new fuel filter (ford genuine part) and bled it using a hand vacuum pump (no air bubbles), new air filter and glow plugs. . There are some specific reasons for the manual transmission to behave in that way. Let’s check if your car is having issues in these areas: 1. Look into the clutch. The problem could be the result of a stubborn clutch refusing to disengage. One way of checking it is to start the car after engaging the gear and clutch. The engine may also be difficult to start or not start at all. The service bulletin recommended that 'BMW Group Carbon Blaster' (part number 81 29 2 208 034) be used to clean the carbon deposits. As a preventative measure, MINI USA recommended that 'BMW Group Fuel Injection and Induction System Cleaner' be used annually on N14-powered vehicles Duramax Engine LLY 2004.5 to 2005. In terms of LLY injector problems, GM had sorted out the internal failures with the 2004 ½ redesign, but the LLY Duramax would occasionally exhibit a trouble code for the injectors, but in most cases it turned out to be an issue with the injector harness rubbing through and causing a short or open in the wiring. It is attached to the battery box. Remove it from the battery box and disconnect it. Touch the end headed towards the starter to the POSITIVE terminal of the battery. The truck should start. Reconnect the wire, close the hood, and check for codes. You will likely have a code for EGT-13 open circuit, over temp, out of range. I've got a 2006 Ford Focus with a 2 litre Duratec with a crank,no start problem. I have changed both crank and cam sensors and have power to all four coil over plug coils and to one side of the injectors on all with the key on but am not getting spark to spark plugs when cranking.I have power to fuse and changed relay to ignition.
